We now see and review many of our patients in group clinics.
This is a well-established way of working and is especially good to support people who live with a long-term condition e.g. Diabetes, high blood pressure or who live with persistent symptoms e.g. Menopause; Long COVID.
There is a good chance that you will be offered a group clinic appointment if you need a review for the following conditions:
- Diabetes
- Asthma
- COPD
- Menopause
- High blood pressure
- Cancer care
- Chronic pain
- Pre-diabetes
- Long COVID
If you are a carer, we may offer you a group carer review appointment.
Please take the opportunity to experience the benefits when you have the chance.
Group clinics have many benefits for you and your family:
- They are scheduled well in advance so you get your appointment with plenty of notice
- You get to spend longer with your GP team, and lots of time to get answers to your questions and ideas to help you better manage your health condition or symptoms
- You feel supported and validated because you meet others in the same situation. You feel less alone and better able to cope
- You learn more and gain confidence to manage your health issues.
If you are a carer you can accompany your loved one to their group clinic.

How do the group clinics take place?
At Balance Street our group clinics can take place either via video or face to face sessions. Video group clinics can be really convenient if you have work or have mobility issues. Face to face sessions work well for patients who are more flexible in terms of time or feel a bit worried about using technology.
